YOLANDA FOSTER AWARDED THE BEDAT & Co GENEVE WOMAN OF SUBSTANCE AWARD 2013

(Los Angeles, July 2013) – BEDAT & Co GENEVE is proud to announce that the BEDAT & Co GENEVE ‘Woman of Substance Award 2013’ has been awarded to Dutch born former supermodel, Yolanda Foster.

Yolanda, who lives in the United States where she is married to multiple Grammy Award winning producer and songwriter David Foster, wins the award in recognition of the way she selflessly highlighted the struggle with Lyme disease, a condition she herself has been struggling against recently.

Throughout her personal fight, Yolanda who is well recognized as being a member of the highly popular The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills TV series, has courageously shared her fight with the condition to the public, and in so doing raising awareness of those who also suffer the same disease.

Her courage and bravery in facing the difficult times were considered to have been highly admirable and motivating. In educating the public in this way, she has displayed all the characteristics of ‘A Woman of Substance’ in the opinion of the judges.

The Award was presented to Yolanda in Los Angeles recently by BEDAT & Co GENEVE ambassador and leading sculptor, Eleanor Cardozo who handed over to Yolanda an exquisite piece of her very own specially commissioned work.

The BEDAT & Co GENEVE ‘Woman of Substance Award’ was introduced to honor the founder of the company, Madame Simone Bédat, an inspiring woman who set out with a burning desire to build a Swiss luxury timepiece brand that recognized the needs and desires of women in what was at the time a male-dominated industry.

Yolanda Foster

Yolanda Foster is a Dutch-born, American television personality, interior designer and former supermodel. She is most known for starring in the American reality hit TV series, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Yolanda is married to David Foster, a 16-time Grammy award winning producer and songwriter. She runs Hopeless Romantic, a business to help men and women to “get wise and keep their romance alive”. In 2012, Yolanda was diagnosed with Lyme disease and has been actively sharing her recovery journey as an act of public awareness. Eleanor Cardozo

Eleanor Cardozo was born in London and spent her early childhood in Africa and Malaysia. She was classically trained in sculpture at The City and Guilds School of Art, London and in portraiture at the Cecil Graves school in Florence. She celebrates the beauty of figurative sculpture and considers the human form the greatest artistic challenge. She devotes much of her time to portrait commissions and her work can be found in private collections throughout the world. Paying tribute to the 2012 London Olympic Games, Eleanor’s Swiss Olympic Dream series gymnast sculptures have been showcased around the world, including an exhibition at London’s Heathrow airport.
